2020 Tournament Canceled

It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Land of the Sky tournament.  We have been following the news about Covid-19 with an eye toward the potential conditions in mid-May.  While we are optimistic that pickleball will return in the coming months, the timing is less certain about the next 6 weeks.  Therefore, we are cancelling the tournament to provide certainty to our players about their safety.

The 2020 tournament will not be rescheduled this year.  We love the mid-May time period in Asheville and would like that time to become a date that players can lock into their schedule.  We will be back in 2021 so keep us on your calendar and watch for our announcement.

Players will be refunded their fees.  We believe that it is the right thing to do.  Our relationship with tournament players is of paramount importance.

Someday soon, we will again rejoice at the sound of pickleball meeting paddle.  Until then, our hope is that everyone stays safe and healthy.

Coronavirus Update

The Land of the Sky tournament directors value our players and our relationship with them.  We have been following the news about the coronavirus with one focus - the health and safety of our players, their families, and their associates.  No tournament is worth that risk nor the loss of your trust in us to do the right thing.

Our tournament is 2 months away and a lot can change in those 2 months.  It is impossible to predict the future based on today's information.  Therefore, as of today, we are proceeding with plans to hold the tournament on the scheduled date.  We will continue to monitor the situation and get advice from local authorities as the tournament approaches the 1-month date.  We will not hesitate to use new information that warrants a change in our decision.  If and when that happens, paid fees will be reimbursed.

We’re committed to keeping you informed through this rapidly changing situation. As it evolves, you can always find the latest information here or on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Landofthesky2020/.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can help address your concerns.
